Description
The Two Brothers Pinot Noir is a distinctive Sonoma County expression, bringing together fruit from Bennett Valley, Russian River Valley and the Sonoma Coast to create a wine with both depth and lift. Named for brothers Tripp and Cushing Donelan, it has become a firm favourite for its combination of generosity, freshness and versatility.
The nose is immediately inviting, with rose petals and warm gingerbread leading into a palate of ripe plum, cranberry and fresh floral notes. Fleshy and rounded through the mid-palate, the wine retains enough freshness to keep the fruit vibrant, while spice and earthy nuances add complexity.
Fruit from multiple vineyards contributes different layers to the finished blend, with the exact composition evolving from vintage to vintage. Delicious on release but with the structure to develop further, this is a wonderfully flexible Pinot Noir, particularly suited to roasted duck, game birds or pork with a fruit compote.
