Description
J. Lohr’s connection to the Central Coast dates back to the early days of California’s modern wine industry, when founder Jerry Lohr recognised the region’s potential through his understanding of the relationship between climate, soil and site. Today, that agricultural heritage remains central to the wines.
A characterful Paso Robles blend that brings together two varieties that have long played an important role in J. Lohr’s Central Coast story. Cabernet Sauvignon provides the savoury structure, while Petite Sirah brings darker fruit, colour and depth. The nose combines black cherry with cocoa, caramel and anise, leading to a palate that is bright and focused, with generous fruit balanced by a firm, appetising finish.
This wine is a particularly natural match for Santa Maria-style grilled tri-tip, with the wine’s structure and dark fruit working beautifully alongside smoky meat, salsa and pinquito beans.
