The 2021 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red is a commanding Napa Valley blend that combines power with remarkable polish and precision. Led by Cabernet Sauvignon and supported by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec, it has the concentration and structure expected from a great Napa vintage, while retaining an appealing sense of freshness. Ripe plum, cassis and blackberry provide the fruit core, with notes of liquorice, nutmeg, green peppercorn and forest floor adding savoury complexity. The palate is broad and beautifully textured, with polished tannins giving definition without overpowering the wine’s generous character.
